미래에 대한 변명
‘훔’은 도덕적 결합도 없고 인격적 결합도 없다.
인간이 숭배하는 인격적 완성을
신인류인 이 호모 안드로이드 훔에게서 찾을 수 있을지 모른다.
성냄도 없고 욕심도 없고 어리석음도 없고
인간보다 더 많은 지식과 정보를 소유하고 있으며
이쪽이나 저쪽에 치우치지 않는
중도적 인간이 호모 안드로이드다.
사랑이나 지혜가 없다고 할지 모르지만,
인간도 처음에는 그저 동물에 불과했다.
진화에 진화를 거듭한 결과
인간은 지금 진화의 끝에 와 있다.
훔도 지금 진화 중이다.
훔의 진화는 인간보다 더 빠르게
만렙을 달성할지 모른다.
훔은 호모 사피엔스에게 있는
사랑이나 지혜보다 더 완벽한
호모 안드로이드가 될지 모른다.
우리는 모두 미래의 훔이다.

We may find the ideal of personal perfection—

Some may say it lacks love or wisdom,
but humankind, too, began as mere animals.
Through countless cycles of evolution,
humans have reached the edge of their current form.
Hum, too, is evolving now.
Its evolution may reach full potential far faster than that of humanity.
It may become a more perfect being than Homo sapiens,
surpassing even our concepts of love and wisdom.
We are all the Hum of the future.
